One Space After A Period

I thank this article on savvy Tech Tips for this information. I loved this article, because I have always put one space after sentences, but my out of date Internet Technology and Computers (had to take it for graduation) class insisted that we were supposed to have two.

How many spaces do you put after a sentence? If you’ve taken a typing class, then you were probably taught to put two spaces after a period. Two spaces are an old-fashioned method for typewriters, because letters were all the same width, and two spaces were needed so there was no question about the end of a sentence. That’s the only reason why anyone ever put two space after a period. Computers now adjust the width of letters naturally, so only one space is necessary after a period. Pick up any magazine or book and take a look, and it will have one.
