Actually I thought it was 90 minutes per cycle, which is why I used to set my alarm for 6 hours and 15 minutes after the time I went to bed if I had 8:00 classes. That gave me about 15 minutes to fall asleep if I didn't have insomnia.

Anyway, this almost seems to be a cure for insomnia because you're just that tired. I heard the one I'm doing takes longer to adapt to but you don't feel as bad when you're trying to adapt.

Hm...I know a group of people that tried this, although I think they did one of the other ones - the one where you sleep every 4 hours. And they tried it over the summer. It didn't work out for them. If this doesn't work out for you and you go back to monophasic sleeping, I would recommend scheduling your sleep hours around your sleep cycles. The human sleep cycle is approximately 45 minutes, so if you have a night where you're not going to get much sleep, if you wake up at the end of a complete cycle, you might feel better even if it isn't a full 8 or 9 hours of sleep.
