Hat

This is post 2/7 in my weekly series of my Winter Survival 2008-2009

Hmm…I only have one item for this category. I guess it’s probably because I don’t really wear hats, or at least I didn’t until I got this one. If I were not given this hat, I probably still wouldn’t ever wear one, and my head would still freeze. I definitely don’t have a specific link to this hat either, because it was custom made for me by my roommate for my birthday present. Thanks again, Sarah! If it were not for you, then my head would have been frozen on those days last week when it was like 20 degrees. For those of you who insist on clicking on a link for everything, her blog’s here. This is probably the first hand-made article of clothing I’ve ever had, so I figured I would show it off here. I just thought it was pretty cute and very practical for really cold days. After all, they do say that most of your body heat is lost through your head on a cold day. I’ll need to remember not to wash this so it remains as soft as it is right now.

Regular Use Warm Shoes

Cove by UGG Australia:
This pair of boots is probably my most frequently worn pair of shoes for regular casual occasions. I actually bought this pair in late August (lol), because when I saw them at the UGG store, I knew they were the perfect boots for me. I believe UGG successfully combined style with comfort when they designed these boots. Unlike most shoes that are either ugly and comfortable or stylish but eat your feet, I found this pair to be a good balance. When it started getting cold in late October, I was actually excited, because I was able to wear these boots.

Ugg slip-ons (style name unknown):
I will admit that I carried these over from last year. There’s nothing wrong with making a nice pair of shoes last for more than one season, especially if they’re still in decent condition and convenient. I wear this pair of shoes when I don’t have to walk too far, and/or I’m too lazy to put on socks. Socks are not essential for this pair shoes, as long as my pants are long enough to cover my feet. Perfect if I’m just headed for a destination on campus. They are extremely warm at all parts that they cover (as I learned the time my sweatpants were too short to completely cover my feet), convenient, and I am satisfied with the aesthetic appeal factor.

Winter Survival 2008-2009

Dec 8th, 2008 Posted in Me, myself, and I, Series Indexes | 2 comments »

This is my second attempt in making a weekly series of posts in one very specific category. I will spend this week, the week of December 8, blogging about my winter gear for winter 2008-2009 with one type of clothing per day; there may be more than one item per day this time, because I could narrow down everything I’m wearing this winter into seven specific articles. This is a good summary of what I’m wearing, and those of you who know me in real life probably see me in the mentioned articles quite frequently.

1. Regular use warm shoes
2. Hat
3. Earmuffs
4. Coats
5. Scarfs
6. Special weather boots
7. Gloves

Keep posted this week for updates!
